More than half of digital Bulgarian SMEs and startups offer global innovation, the newly-published research InnovationShip shows.
On March 28th EDIT.bg will present its new report and recommendations for institutional measures for effective systematical support for digital SMEs to the Ministry of Economy.
We invite you to join the discussion on what the opportunities and effective measures that could turn Bulgaria into an European digital hub. Participants are the Minister of Economy Teodor Sedlarski and the Minister of Education and Science Nikolay Denkov, Evgeny Angelov, chairman of Bulgarian Venture Capital Association and business representitives.
Following the first ever mapping of digital SMEs in Bulgaria - InnovationShip Bulgaria|Digital, as part of the EDIT.bg initiative we continued to explore local and global best practice for supporting the digital sector. The data shows that in the past decade Bulgaria has been following the global digitalization trend and it outperforms some other EU member states (ICT forms 4.5% of the GDP, where 3.7% is the average in EU; 11% of the whole service export come from ICT business and the average growth rate is $73M yearly).
Yet Bulgaria has not managed to improve its position on the European digital economy map and 77% of the digital SMEs in Bulgaria share the opinion that there is not enough institutional support for their business.
