The third Bulgarian edition was held at ten locations in nine cities and was a meeting point between institutions and the startup scene
The CAMP music Festival was founded in 1999 by Prof. Fried Dähn and Thomas Maos.
Since 2003, it has been organized and run and coordinated by CAMP e.V. (Thomas Maos, Fried Dähn, Stefan Hartmaier, and Martin Mangold).
The international festival CAMP offers an innovative interactive laboratory for sound artists, visual artists, cross-media artists, dancers, performers and scientists. The event takes place in varying cities throughout Europe and features experimental and electronic music in dialogue with visual and performing arts. For its fifteenth edition, the CAMP festival will take place in Sofia from May 22 to May 27, 2017.
It will become a German—Bulgarian art and research project that will gather renowned artists from the Bulgarian and German scene, which for several days during specially organized workshops will create a unique artwork for the Bulgarian and Sofia audience in particular. The results are showcased to the public in concerts, installations and performances held alongside the event. In addition, artistic research, lectures and workshops discuss, convey and develop various themes and aspects of audiovisual art.
Each festival is staged at a different location, with a new team of international artists.
The unfamiliar spaces, the associated creative criteria and collaboration with new artists pose challenges that unlock vast creative potential and foster intensive international dialogue.
