Euro Train 2 took on a virtual journey on the 24th April, at 19:00 and arrived in Bulgaria! We travelled with Nusha Spirova from Back2BG and "Identity for Bulgaria", Mila Natudova from "Tuk Tam", Belizar Marinov from ABLE and Kalina Drenska from "United Ideas for Bulgaria".
We talked with Tuk Tam: who, what, where and how did they travel around Europe and what drove them to return back to Bulgaria. What initiatives were offered by the various organizations to young people who wanted to develop our country? What are the existing opportunities for a career, business, social entrepreneurship and civic action in Bulgaria? When and where were the interesting activites happening and in what interesting events are happening in your community that you would join?
Kalina Drenska from "United Ideas for Bulgaria"
While traveling with Kalina we understood that the organization exists in over 10 countries here at home since 2011 there were 40 active members, but anyone can join in, regardless of where they are. And with a smile she acknowledged that she was still abroad and not here completing her education in Berlin. What did Bulgarians find when they returned home? What are the difficulties in career development and what happens when you ‘fall off the horse?’ Find out in the video of our journey.
Nusha Spirova for the project "Back2BG"
Nusha Spirova from ‘Identity for Bulgaria’ said that the Back2BG is a project of their organization. And what do they do exactly? She clarified that they are a professional organization that collaborates in finding employment for young people returning back to Bulgaria. They set up meetings with employers, assist in finding jobs within the country, but along with these they recognize the challenges they have in front of them to encourage young people studying abroad to return here. Nusha was clear that the organization has an idealistic image of Bulgaria and aims to spread this image of our country abroad. She was the only one who hasn’t studied abroad for an extended period of time, unlike the other participants in ‘Identity for Bulgaria.’ She believes that the main problem in our country, for us Bulgarians, is the fact that people keep their ideas to themselves and don’t share them with anyone, in case someone decides to steal them. The reason why Bulgarians return home from abroad to their homeland, Nusha said it was for personal reasons.
Mila Natudova - their original intention was to unite young Bulgarians abroad
What is it like to be there and to return here, and what is happening with ‘Tuk Tam?’ Mila Natudonova from the organization ‘Tuk Tam’ discussed the early experiences and goals of everyone involved in ‘Tuk Tam’
They began 6 years ago and their original intention was to unite young Bulgarians abroad, they organized events, because they wanted to meet with people with new ideas, to get to know them and exactly here, in Bulgaria their dreams came true. Mila became part of the organization a year after she returned from the United States. And like this we had the opportunity to travel in the Euro cabin together.
Belizar Marinov - the Association of Bulgarian Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE)
At the Bulgarian stop Belizar Marinov from ABLE got off. He always felt connected to Bulgaria while he was studying for his masters in the Netherlands and he dreamed that he could apply what he learned to his homeland. And it’s with people like Belizar that today the Association of Bulgarian Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE) has over 150 members. They look out for and they connect with likeminded people to realize their ideas, and everyone shares the same leadership values and entrepreneurial culture. What can they do to combine the ideas for Bulgaria, especially in an organization bearing that name? Kalina Drenska explains it broadly as ‘new ways to solve old problems.’
