Interactive Meetings between Generations Add up to Bulgarian History

We have the unique historic chance to keep the memories of a generation of Bulgarians. This is one of the missions of the project “My Bulgarian History” that recently turned one year since its creation. Digital technology gives us the chance to build a bridge between the memories of Bulgaria from decades ago and nowadays, to consolidate them into a common historic map, where together we could write our collective history that does not undergo political interpretations and changes. Each of us can upload a piece of history to myhistory.bg

The project aims to focus its efforts on live meetings between generations and the digitalization of their stories in real time on the interactive map of myhistory.bg. In the next couple of weeks we are organizing a series of events, during which we will fill the map with the help of various communities from important historical locations.

A digital “sedianka”[1] in Veliko Tarnovo – 18^th April, 17.00h

For the second time we are organizing a digital gathering in Veliko Tarnovo together with atelier “History and Memory”. We will learn which the least known stories of the medieval capital are from our meeting with the local community in the museum of the Veliko Tarnovo University. The stories will find their spot on the virtual map of “My Bulgarian History” in real time.

History for All, part 3: The heroes of the April Uprising – 20^th April, 19:00h

Together with Bulgarian History Association we are organizing our third adventure from the series of events “History for All”. Successors to people related to the April Uprising will be our guests and will tell us their family stories, and we will present interactive video materials about the unknown heroes of the Uprising. The event will take place at the home of MOVE.BG (Sofia, 20 Serdika Street).

Digital “Sedianka” in Sofia – 27^th April, 11:00h

Our first “Digital Gathering” in Sofia is taking place thanks to our partnership with Community Center “Awakening -1946” in Lozenets neighborhood. People from the area will introduce us to interesting stories about people and places related with one of the most popular neighborhoods in the capital. We have a double occasion – along with our first birthday we are celebrating the 70^th anniversary of the center.
