A few days before the mayoral election, MOVE.BG published a special brochure "Mission Green Sofia: Seven Directions for Green Transformation of the Capital". The project presents seven serious and long-term challenges that Sofia Municipality is facing as well as possible paths to overcome them. The brochure is part of MOVE.BG's latest initiative "Mission Green Sofia", which insists green transformation be a top priority for Sofia's development.
Seven Directions
The directions in the brochure lead us towards making the capital a place for happy living. A city where:
- we breathe clean air
- energy-poor is resolved
- our homes do not waste energy
- citizens produce their own cheap and clean energy
- public transport is smart and convenient
- waste is a resource, not rubbish
- and Sofia is among the leaders in the economy of the future - innovative, green, and digital
To make this future possible, all seven directions in the brochure lead to green transformation - the European Union's main development agenda, which should become the main development agenda for Sofia and the rest of Bulgaria's municipalities.

Mainstreaming Climate Policy on the Local Level
The brochure explains in an interactive way, through concrete problems in Sofia, why climate change and green transformation need to be part of all policies at the municipal level in Bulgaria - MOVE.BG has been insisting on the mainstreaming of climate policy in Bulgaria for three years.
The brochure summarizes the MOVE.BG campaign "Why is It Important for Sofia to be Green?", which was launched on the eve of the first round of local elections, on October 12th - the Day of the Bulgarian Municipality. Today, on October 31st - World Cities Day and on the eve of the mayoral run-off, we publish the entire campaign as a summary document in PDF format.
Mission Green Sofia
The brochure is part of MOVE.BG's newest initiative "Mission Green Sofia", dedicated to the need to make green transformation a top priority for Sofia's development and to the opportunity for the capital to be a model for green development for other municipalities in Bulgaria, encouraging them to follow this path.
