The context and the national and social state of development Bulgaria can be regarded through different prisms.
Most analyses, statistics and evaluations however lead to a similar conclusion – that our country needs a major change, a new approach and a different strategy. Our country needs a vision.
Europe is facing serious challenges, which affect directly all countries from the EU and Bulgaria in particular as external border with a strategic place on the Balkans – an increased migration flow, terrorist threats, information war, cyberterrorism etc. This affects the economic, social and geopolitical development of Bulgaria and is defining to the role which the country will play in the decision-making process.
In a constantly changing world as ours, where globalization and the transformational processes are happening with an every greater velocity, it is crucial for Bulgaria to find the opportunities and interconnections which will stimulate its competitive advantages and long-term perspectives for growth. Therefore Bulgaria needs a vision beyond the well-known strategies and courage in the formation and execution of all these interconnections and synergies, which would not only bring the state forward in formal lists and indexes, but will also contribute to the nation’s social transformation. The recognition of the potentials for growth and development in Bulgaria is just a part of the goal that we at MOVE.BG are setting before ourselves. The main reason for the realization of these potentials is the precise definition of the actual opportunities and the identification of the active stakeholders who shape the surroundings for the better through their ideas, causes and actions.
In MOVE.BG we believe that despite the socio-economic and external political challenges
Bulgaria has the potential to achieve sustainable growth, to become an attractive place to live a fulfilled and happy life, and to be a center of innovation and ideas with added value for our common future.
Where is Bulgaria?
The potential for economic and social development in Bulgaria is related to the active and focused identification of economic sectors and social phenomena, which can attribute to the fullest extent for sustainable economic growth, high standard of living and social wellbeing. Bulgaria has the prerequisites to achieve these results through systematic development of the high-tech and innovative sectors of the economy, while applying sustainable policies and leveraging on the tradition and cultural heritage. Special attention to the cross-sector interdependencies is essential in order to achieve a balanced and sustainable development. Therefore a proactive state policy is needed which would create conditions for growth and would encourage the entrepreneurial and preemptive formulation of clear opportunities and innovative approaches in their realization. We, at MOVE.BG, see this aspect as the very fundament for social development.
Thanks to the open development model, Bulgaria is not isolated from the global processes for social and economic transformations, from the impact of technological progress, climate change and the shift toward green economy.
In MOVE.BG we believe that to develop in a sustainable way, Bulgaria needs a clear vision and strict following of carefully planned long-term strategies. Strategies which are not only oriented towards already existing parameters of the economy and society, but are also aligned with global tendencies. Strategies which despite of the restricted scale and resources, map the road which would lead us to the group of the ones who set the trends instead of the ones who follow or lag behind.
The economic program of MOVE.BG aims to recognize, promote and support the development of the potentially successful sectors in the Bulgarian economy. To us the technological and sustainable innovations drive economic growth and ameliorate people’s daily lives.
- Which are these factors for growth? Which are the potentials of our country and how can they be developed?
- Which are the carriers of the new ideas and how can they be systematically supported in favor of the common prosperity?
These are some of the questions which we address in the framework of our economic program.
