MOVE.BG held an online campaign and exhibition entitled ‘You Move Europe’ as part of the European program, which focuses on the agenda of unresolved European issues and challenges facing the European Union, focusing on the place of Bulgaria and the role of its citizens in the European process.
Throughout the course of the campaign there were more than 50 pictures displayed of how Bulgaria and Bulgarians contribute to the European Union. The initiative was supported by over 20 popular artists, including actors, writers and musicians.
The campaign’s goal was to make us think of ourselves as full European citizens and to highlight our positive Bulgarian image within Europe. We displayed photos with short descriptions that were submitted by people from all over Bulgaria. At the end of the initiative MOVE.BG received a pleasant surprise from Panagurishte. Children from April 20th school in the city along with their director Tanya Rakova worked on a sign to support the campaign ‘You Move Europe’.
The reason we launched the campaign was the negative statistics and image of us Bulgarians – the fastest aging and dispersing, with the lowest fertility rates, and the worst mortality rate in the European Union. We are the poorest country in the EU, spending the least on education, and last in freedom of the press. The people are the most miserable, and least happy of all Europeans. We started this campaign with the confidence that that’s how Bulgaria looks to Europe, but not to us, because Bulgaria was first in Europe to build a single system that covers all people with disabilities and is the second in the EU with the lowest public debt. We have given Europe and the world the Cyrillic alphabet and the Renaissance. We also have the best quality internet alliance with coefficient 89.35, where the average in Europe is 84.65.

At the final exhibition on the Day of Europe – 9th of May, at the home of MOVE.BG together we symbolically sent the displayed ideas to European Institutions by donating our collage of all the photos that were sent in to Hristo Hristov to the European Commission of Representation in Bulgaria. More and more we need to hear the voice of our country in the EU has been the wish of Sasha, the founder of MOVE.BG. 20 of the most popular photos on social networks were featured – they were voted on up to the 1st of May. In MOVE.BG we believe that Bulgaria belongs historically and culturally to Europe and the path of our country is European, Seven years after the Bulgaria entered the EU to be European it should be a part of our self-determination on a personal level and as a community to be European. ‘Our path goes through knowledge and understanding of Europe and in understanding the role that Bulgaria has today, and we want to have in perspective of European tradition and for the future.’ Said Sasha Bezuhanova at the event.
