On September 28, we will talk with diplomats, government officials, entrepreneurs, scientists, and environmentalists about Bulgaria's preparations for one of the key international forums this year - the UN Climate Summit COP 26.
What is the vision of the fourth and final version of the Bulgarian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP)? What changes have been introduced by the caretaker government and with what motivation? What directions for the development of our country the Bulgarian National Recovery and Resilience Plan trace?
We will look for answers to those questions on July 26, a few days after the official submission of the Bulgarian National Recovery and Resilience Plan to the European Commission. Our guest will be the caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov, who is responsible for the process of finalizing the Plan.
The event will also mark one year since the establishment of the MOVE.BG-initiated the civic coalition “Green Restart”, which also includes WWF Bulgaria, Greenpeace-Bulgaria, and the Institute of Circular Economy. It was founded with the motivation to support the preparation of an ambitious transformational program in the Bulgarian National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Moderator of the discussion: Sasha Bezuhanova, founder of MOVE.BG and initiator of “Green Restart Coalition”.
Why is it important to talk about NRRP after its submission to the Commission?
Bulgaria will receive BGN 12 billion in additional funding from Europe via the Bulgarian National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The funds should follow the rule “money versus reforms” and support the green and digital transition of the economy. The projects and reforms set out in the Plan will have to be implemented by the next governments, regardless of the political configuration in the country.
That is why we invite you to our fourth special Roundtable on the Future of Bulgaria, dedicated to the process of finalizing the NRRP and the vision for the development of our country set in the Plan.
The Roundtable “Next Generation EU in Bulgaria: A Plan for the Future?” will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov and representatives of the Coalition.
There is a place for everyone at our Roundtable. Join the conversation about the Future! We are waiting for you online on July 26 from 12:00. Register here. The event will be broadcast in the Bulgarian language live on the Facebook profile of MOVE.BG here.
