A new campaign of “My Bulgarian History”
There is a story behind every facade in the “quARTer”.
We will walk around the most interesting buildings together with the virtual historical map “My Bulgarian history” in order to discover and share the exciting stories behind their creation or their inhabitants throughout the years. All the locations will be marked with special stickers and on the map of “quARTer”. Watch out for the yellow pins!
Yellow pins with keywords could be found in front of the emblematic buildings in the “quARTer” area and will help the visitors find the stories of the different locations on the map of My Bulgarian History. No additional apps are necessary – just open myhistory.bg in the browser of your smartphone, enter the keyword and find out the interesting facts about the near and distant future of the building in front of you.
Where did the old Sofia citizens used to walk around in the beginning of the last century, how was their destiny bound to places such as the “Hali” covered market, the Mosque or the Old Bath? How did the quarter change and what are the memories kept behind the locked doors of Modern Theatre and other buildings? What is the spirit of an old house and does it have karma? Together we will look for the answers of those questions. The historical tour is a MOVE.BG initiative.
My Bulgarian History is an interactive map of Bulgaria where all of us can write and share our history.
Stories which usually end up untold, less known facts about our common past or important public figures , and our personal stories – those of our families, houses or streets. We created My Bulgarian history for the unknown and less popular stories as we believe that each story is important, each tale is interesting and contains a moral worth sharing. Because every story is both personal and common.

At the beginning of the 20th century, MoveBG`s residence used to be Hotel Prentemps. The interesting and fascinating facade is still part of the building after a number of restorations. During the socialist period it used to be a “lost and found” center.
What else can we see in “quARTer”?
