Electoral Reform

A programme exploring the electoral process in Bulgaria and the need for reforms. We have conducted a series of discussions and debates in order to inform a wider audience about the main definitions and contradictions in the Bulgarian electoral system. With the help of experts, volunteers and active citizens we created “Manual for electoral reform” – an interactive information instrument introducing every citizen to the electoral system, its issues and potential solutions, and also allowing the users to share their own vision for electoral reform.

MOVE.BG launches a series of debates to achieve broad election system awareness

Within the framework of its Program for election reform, which started in 2014, MOVE.BG initiated the creation of analytical-informational publication on the status of the election system in Bulgaria and the alternatives to solve the existing problems. We’ve dedicated our efforts to create a product for the widest possible range of people which will be distributed free and broadly. The ultimate goal is a high level of political and expert debate on the subject, more informed choices for Bulgarian citizens and as a result - more reasonable, legitimate and effective policies for Bulgaria.

Stages of work

First stage of the initiative started in the beginning of December and ended on the 10-th of January with a summary meeting. During this time, 15 volunteers got involved and researched on the main issues of the publication.

Based on this analysis were formulated the tasks for the Second stage of the initiative, which is dedicated on the solutions for the Election reform. It started in the beginning of February and 20 volunteer-researchers got involved. Their work will be summarized on the 15-th of March.

The beginning of the Third stage – graphical design and layout in most comprehensive way. The working process for the publication will continue to be transparent, inclusive and democratic.

Stay in touch with the initiative by checking out our site, or follow us on Facebook,Twitter or LinkedIn.
